Why Beskid Wyspowy, not the Tatras?
Beskid Wyspowy is a mountain range in Małopolska, stretching between Myślenice and Limanowa. "Wyspowy" — "island-like" — because each peak rises like an island above the surrounding valleys, each with its own distinct silhouette.
Unlike the crowded Tatras and Podhale, Beskid Wyspowy offers calm, authenticity and an absence of commercialism. There are no queues to the summit here, no fleets of tour buses — instead, real mountain meadows, grazing sheep and views that stay with you.
Gruszowiec sits right in the heart of this range, offering an excellent starting point for all the major peaks.

Beskid Wyspowy with children
Beskid Wyspowy is one of the best places in Poland for mountains with children. The trails are gentle, the meadows wide, and the views reward every bit of effort.
The biggest draw for the youngest visitors is the animals — sheep grazing on the meadows, shepherds leading their flocks, mountain streams and rocks to climb.
Around Gruszowiec there are none of the hazards typical of higher mountains. Trails are well marked, rarely steep, always scenic.

When to visit?
Spring (April–May)
Green meadows, sheep let out to pasture, blooming fields. An ideal time for a first trip with children.
Summer (June–August)
The longest days, full greenery, warm daytime temperatures. Pleasantly cool evenings.
Autumn (September–October)
Golden and red forests, haze-free panoramas. One of the most beautiful sights in Poland.
Winter (December–March)
Snow on the trails, calm, few tourists. Perfect for sledding and quiet winter walks.
